1 person killed in crash on Butler County main road identified

BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) – A fatal crash in Butler County left one person dead and a main road near the Great Miami River closed.

An early morning crash on State Route 127 in Butler County led to a complete road closure near a bridge crossing the Great Miami River.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the crash at 5:50 a.m. Sunday morning. They reported a 21-year-old man lost control while driving a 2011 Mitsubishi SUV southbound on State Route 127.

According to the police, he drove off the right side of the road and hit a tree. The spokesman added that when officers arrived at the scene, the driver was already dead. On Monday, the Butler County Coroner’s Office identified him as Austin McGuire.

Authorities are investigating whether alcohol and excessive speed were factors in the crash.

The area was closed for over an hour but reopened just before 8am
