CHP says one person has died in a crash in southeast Fresno on wet roads

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — One person was killed following a crash on Highway 41 in Fresno early Tuesday morning.

The crash happened just after 5:30 a.m. on Highway 180 in southeast Fresno as it connects to downtown.

The California Highway Patrol says a black Toyota Tacoma was traveling west on Highway 180 when the driver lost control of the truck and went through a guardrail.

The truck landed below on Highway 41.

The passenger was taken to hospital, where he died.

The driver also suffered injuries but is expected to recover.

Officers say the accident was caused by rainy weather.

The slippery surface was a problem not only for this driver, but also for several others in the valley.

The CHP recommends that all drivers check their tire pressure, adding that maintaining the correct tire pressure will prevent or reduce the risk of aquaplaning.
