Police in Colombia have identified the man who was fatally shot, they say, following an argument in Weinland Park, and asked the public for help in identifying the shooter.

Anthony Wise, 20, was found with a gunshot wound by officers responding to a report of a shooting just before 8:30 p.m. Monday night in the 1200 block of North 4th Street, city homicide detectives said in a news release.

Columbus Fire Department medics transported Wise in life-threatening condition to Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:10 p.m., police said.

According to Columbus police homicide detectives, Wise was with a group of friends gathered at a shelter in Weinland Park when one of the men in the group pulled out a gun and began shooting, striking Wise. Detectives said they believe the shooting may have been the result of an “ongoing dispute” between Wise and a group of unidentified people.

Investigators said witnesses and the gunman fled to the nearby Weinland Park neighborhood.

The suspect was described as a 20-year-old black male wearing a sled, a gray hooded jacket and jeans.

Police are asking anyone with cameras in the Weinland Park area to review video footage. The video can be uploaded to https://ColumbusPDOH.evidence.com/axon/community-request/public/240878042.
