Police pursuit ends in shooting in West Adams area; suspect, one person injured

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A police pursuit ended with a shooting in the West Adams area Tuesday afternoon, leaving a suspect and one person injured.

AIR7 began tracking the pursuit shortly after noon.

It’s unclear what sparked the chase, but eyewitnesses were told the suspect, who was driving a white Maserati, was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon in a domestic violence case.

Officers pursued the suspect onto Highway 110, then onto surface streets in the Ladera Heights area, and ultimately into a residential area near West and Jefferson boulevards.

The suspect then drove into a driveway, parked behind an apartment building and walked toward the street where police were waiting.

The suspect and the woman were hit, although their condition is unknown.

At the scene of the incident, two weapons were found near the suspect, who was eventually treated by paramedics and taken to hospital.
