The FBI identifies a man who died in a Northland home following a law enforcement shooting

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Federal investigators have identified the man who died Monday morning in a law enforcement shooting.

The FBI said agents with the Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force served a search warrant in the 3000 block of NW 73rd Street.

An FBI statement said law enforcement announced their arrival and knocked, but received no response. Agents then entered the home and “encountered an armed man who was injured and pronounced dead at the scene.”

The FBI identified the armed man as Ethan Michael Gosch, a 34-year-old man.

The FBI said agents were involved in the shooting, but the office provided no details on whether the shooting resulted in the death of a person at the residence.

The statement says the incident is being investigated by the FBI’s Inspection Division.
