Conor McGregor and his partner speak out about the outcome of the assault case

Conor McGregor and his fiancée Dee Devlin issued statements following the verdict in the MMA fighter’s civil case over an alleged hotel robbery.

On Tuesday (November 26), McGregor and Devlin took to social media to express two very different reactions to the Irish brawler’s defeat in a sexual assault case in which he was ordered to pay €250,000 to accuser Nikita for a violent altercation in 2018. McGregor previously made headlines earlier this month in the immediate aftermath of the verdict after lashing out at Jake Paul, who antagonized him over the ruling in the case while criticizing UFC mogul Dana White.

In an official speech he shared on Twitter, McGregor opted for a low-key approach, taking time to atone for his past “mistakes” but still maintaining his innocence.

“People want to hear from me, I needed time,” McGregoe wrote. “I know I made mistakes. Six years ago I shouldn’t have responded to her requests. I should have shut down the party. I should never have thrown myself at the woman I love most in the world. It’s all up to me.”

He continued: “While I deeply regret it, everything that happened that night was consensual and all witnesses present swore to it under oath.”

Continuing on, McGregor reflected on what lies ahead for him and assured that his supporters will take further legal action in addition to returning to cage fighting.

“I have instructed my legal team to appeal this decision,” he wrote. “I can’t go back and I’ll move on. I am extremely grateful to my family, friends and supporters around the world who have been there for me.
That’s all. No more. We’re going back to the gym – the fight awaits!

On the contrary, Devlin released her own statement via her Instagram profile and strongly defended McGregor despite the verdict in the case.

“My man and I have created a beautiful life together,” Devlin wrote in the caption. “I love him, I trust him and I BELIEVE HIM! Our four beautiful children, whose smiling faces and happy hearts are a testimony to what kind of person he is and who we are! No one has the right to comment on our relationship – we trust and love each other. Nothing and no one will change that. Our family is strong!”
