Pro wrestling legend Ric Flair reacted to the untimely death of his stepson in an emotional social media post.

Flair’s stepson, Sebastian Kidder, took his own life over the weekend at the age of 24 when news of his death was announced on Sunday.

The 75-year-old WWE Hall of Famer had not commented publicly on Kidder’s death until Sunday evening.

“I spent hours wondering what to say. After hearing the news of Sebastian’s death, I can only imagine what Wendy and Paul are going through, having lost their son around the same age in 2013,” Flair wrote in part of his post.

“I am very grateful for the time I spent with Sebastian. I have so many great memories and bonds with him growing up!” he later wrote. “He stood tall by his mother along with his entire family – Sophia, Paris and Summer, as I lay dying. He was so selfless in sharing his mother with me as I lay dying. And also after my son Reid died. He was multi-talented and in everyone’s eyes a huge success and that’s how we will always remember him.”

According to TMZ, Kidder died on Saturday from a gunshot wound.

Kidder’s death was confirmed on social media by his mother, Wendy Barlow.

“I am devastated and shocked. This is an epidemic among your young men. And mental health,” Barlow said.

Kidder is Barlow’s son and her previous partner, whom she was with before marrying Flair in 2018.

His son Reid died in March 2013 at the age of 25 of a drug overdose and was found in a Charlotte hotel room.

According to TMZ that Flair had been a part of Kidder’s life for over a decade and a half, even before Barlow and Flair were married.

Last month, Flair announced that he and Barlow were splitting up.

In an interview with Good Day Atlanta earlier this year, Kidder opened up about what it was like to have Flair in his life for so long.

“Lots of advice for sure. That’s an interesting thing growing up with Ric Flair as a stepfather. It was completely different and unique,” Kidder said: according to US Weekly.. “I mean, you go out for a family meal and you’re surrounded by fans. You are exposed to this from an early age, everyone comes and wants photos and autographs. I mean, what kid, like Post Malone, comes to dinner with us?
