A Worcester man was charged Tuesday with sexually abusing two underage girls and filming himself assaulting them, officials said.

Antonio Merced, 26, is charged with one count of sexual abuse of a minor, According to to the office of Acting United States Attorney Joshua Levy. Prosecutors allege that on July 13, 2024, he created videos in which he sexually assaulted two girls.

The 26-year-old was previously arrested in September 2024 and charged in Worcester District Court on two counts of aggravated rape of a child, three counts of dissemination of obscene material to a minor, and one count each of open and gross lewdness and lewd conduct, dissemination of exploitative material child sexual abuse (CSAM), intimidation and solicitation of a child under 16 years of age.

According to prosecutors, Merced is currently in state custody on these charges.

The federal charge he faces for sexual abuse of a minor could result in a sentence of up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
