Man seriously injured in shooting in downtown Toronto – CP24

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a shooting in Toronto’s east downtown on Sunday night.

The incident occurred in the Cabbagetown South area, near Sherbourne Street and Dundas Street East.

Toronto police said they were called to the area just before 9:30 p.m. after receiving reports of shots heard in the area.

They said officers found a male victim with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and that a vehicle was seen fleeing the area.

Police say the suspects are a man and a woman. No further description of the suspect is available at this time.

There is currently an increased police presence in the area.

Sherbourne is closed between Dundas and Gerrard Streets and police are asking drivers to use alternative routes.
