25-year-old pilot committed suicide in Mumbai; boy arrested | Latest India News

Shrishti Tuli was found dead in her apartment in Andheri (East) on Monday and the police said that preliminary investigation indicates that her boyfriend was harassing her.

A 27-year-old Delhi resident, Aditya Pandit, was arrested by the Mumbai Police on Tuesday for allegedly abetting the suicide of his 25-year-old girlfriend, Shristi Tuli.

Tuli, a pilot by profession, was found dead on Monday in Andheri. According to an Indian Express report, the woman’s family suspects that the accused murdered the Air India pilot and is trying to make it look like a suicide.

The family he comes from Uttar Pradeshin Gorakhpur, accused the accused of public abuse and stated that he even controlled her food preferences by not allowing her to consume non-vegetarian food.

Tuli was found dead in her apartment in Andheri (East) on Monday, and police said initial investigation points to harassment by her boyfriend.

On Sunday, the couple allegedly had an argument at the women’s apartment after which Pandit left Delhi. The police investigation revealed that the woman called him and announced that she was going to commit suicide. The man, who was also preparing for his pilot exam, returned to the apartment and called the jobber when he found the door locked from the inside. He opened the room and allegedly found Tuli unresponsive.

Tuli was taken to Seven Hills Hospital in Marol but was pronounced dead and information was passed on to her family and police.

Aditiya Pandit put in police custody

According to the police, Pandit was arrested under Art. 108 BNS and brought to court after Tuli’s family filed a complaint. He was placed in four-day police custody. The autopsy report shows that the victim died by suicide.

The couple met while training for a commercial pilot license in Delhi. Tuli completed her training and got a job Air India, after which she moved to Mumbai in 2023. According to the FIR, CCTV footage from that day showed Tuli returning home from work on Sunday, talking to her mother on the phone and showing no signs of distress. The FIR stated that this indicates that an argument between the couple was the reason behind the suicide.

Tula’s last rites were performed on Wednesday in her native Gorakhpur.
