Three people injured after a car collided with the driver’s cab at Torbay Hospital

The fire brigade reported that after crews arrived, the driver was freed from the vehicle, but there were two people under the car.

It was confirmed that fire and rescue services from Torquay and Paignton attended the scene and recovered the car.

“Both victims are now clear and are being examined by the ambulance service,” he added.

In a statement on Facebook, externalTorbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust said traffic diversions were in place and car park A was closed following the incident.

“There was a road accident at Torbay Hospital. Emergency services are on site,” it said.

“People who are expected to attend on-site meetings today are encouraged to use public transport where possible and allow extra travel time.”

The BBC has approached Torbay Hospital and the fire service for comment.
