Unnamed people working with Police Storm Metro TV studio are trying to disrupt the Good Morning Ghana live show

Unnamed persons accompanied by armed persons purporting to be police officers stormed the Accra Metro TV station to apparently disrupt the live broadcast of the event Good morning A show in Ghana.

It is suggested that some station employees were injured as a result of the incident. The reasons for the police actions remain unknown.

The show’s host, Randy Abbey, said people have tried to do just that enter by force studio because it was there audible commotion in the background.

Due to the intrusion, the program was forced to take a temporary commercial break.

“Why would a crowd try to enter a studio where live shows are taking place? I’m worried about Metro’s security staff. One of them is currently injured,” Kwesi Pratt, a panelist on the program, noted during the broadcast.

The incident has sparked widespread concern given that Ghana is less than a week away from the general elections.

Similar attacks on the press and media occurred during the election campaign, as in the Ashanti region, where Kofi Asamoah, leader National Democratic Congress parliamentary candidate in Asante Akim North, attacked Salt FM station based in Agogo in connection with certain alleged defamatory statements made against him.

Asamoah alleged that the station’s broadcaster said he received financial support and resources from the current Member of Parliament to finance his campaign.

FM class headquarters was attacked on Thursday, April 25, 2024, by unknown perpetrators.

The attackers threw stones and petrol bombs, which was captured on CCTV footage posted online.

UTV studios attacked

The group stormed the UTV studios on Saturday, October 7, 2023, during the live broadcast of the station’s flagship program entertainment United Showbiz program.

Some of them reportedly demanded to know the whereabouts of Kwame A Plus, a government critic and regular expert on the program.
