The Pittsburgh Steelers get a huge boost with the return of their explosive defensive tackle

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Montravius Adams returned to practice Wednesday and has a chance to play for the Steelers against the Cincinnati Bengals. Head coach Mike Tomlin has left the door open for Adams to return, and it appears it may happen.

The Steel workers they missed Adams in the middle of the defense. Pittsburgh alternated between Isaiahh Loudermilk and Dean Lowry behind starter Keeanu Benton.

Adams has been on injured reserve since Oct. 22 and underwent surgery for a torn meniscus. This injury left the Steelers in limbo, not knowing what to do with their defensive line rotation after they lost the energy that Adams gives them as a pass-and-run defender.

Either way, it seems possible that after three full practices this week, Adams could be activated from injured reserve and return against the Bengals.

The Steelers have already used six of their eight designated spots to get players back from injured reserve. Most likely, winger Roman Wilson will also return soon and will take the number seven spot.
