Abbeville woman arrested after apparently intentional accident at Oxford petrol station

On November 15, 2024, the Oxford Police Department initiated an investigation into an incident reported as a possible aggravated assault that occurred at a gas station on University Avenue.

Officers went to the scene after a report of an intentional collision between a vehicle and another vehicle during an argument. According to reports, the argument began with an exchange of words and escalated when one vehicle hit the other. There were four minor passengers in the struck vehicle at the time, but no injuries were reported and medical treatment was denied.

A witness at the scene said the collision appeared intentional. Investigators were working to collect additional evidence, including contacting witnesses and nearby businesses to obtain video footage.

Following an investigation, Tara Marion, 30, of Abbeville, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault – a display of extreme indifference to human life. Her bail is set by a Municipal Court judge.
