A man died and two other people were injured in a terrible accident involving a truck and two passenger cars

As a result of a road accident involving a truck and two passenger cars, a man died and two other people were injured.

Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a fatal accident which occurred on the N11 road in Crossabeg, County Wexford on Wednesday just before 5 p.m.

“A 50-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people received medical treatment at the scene for injuries which were considered non-life-threatening,” a Garda spokesman confirmed.

Drivers are asked to be informed that the road will be closed overnight and local detours have been planned. A technical investigation by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators is ongoing.

Investigating gardaí have heard that a man in his 20s has been arrested and is currently in custody under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Co. Wexford Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward, and are particularly appealing to all road users who may have camera footage, including dash cam footage, who were traveling on the N11 and its surrounding areas between 4.45pm and 5.45pm on Wednesday, to share this footage.
