Police say three people died in a fiery Tesla Cybertruck crash in Piedmont, California

PIEDMONT, Calif. — Police say three people are dead and one injured after a car crash on Wednesday morning.

A Tesla Cybertruck crashed at Hampton Road and King Avenue just after 3 a.m. in Piedmont, California.

Piedmont Police Capt. Chris Monahan said the truck “jumped the curb, struck a cement wall and then became wedged between the wall and a tree.”

The truck called 911 about the crash, and police said a second car arrived moments later and the driver managed to get one person out of the Cybertruck.

The person was taken to hospital, but it is unclear his condition.

Upon arrival, the officers found the Cybertruck on fire.

Police have blocked part of the street where the accident occurred and say it is a residential area.

The causes of the accident and the relationships with the people traveling in the car are not yet known.
