PHOENIX (KPHO/Gray News) – An Arizona boy is fighting for his life after a statue fell on him at an upscale Phoenix resort Wednesday morning.

Phoenix firefighters said they were called around 9 a.m. to the Arizona Biltmore resort for reports of an injured child.

Fire Captain Todd Keller confirmed that an 8-year-old child was struck by a concrete object.

Footage from the scene shows that the statue fell to the ground.

Emergency services transported the child to a local hospital in critical condition. It is unclear whether a parent or guardian was observing him at the time of the incident.

Aerial footage showed crime scene tape surrounding part of the hotel while debris was strewn across the resort’s lawn.
