North says South Korea’s military sent a propaganda drone from a remote border island

On Monday, North Korean state media said the investigation “proved” South KoreaThe military sent a drone over Pyongyang to drop propaganda leaflets, calling it a violation of sovereignty.

The nuclear-armed North has accused Seoul of sending unmanned aerial vehicles into its airspace three times, which the South Korean military has denied.

The analysis “showed that a drone of ROK military gangsters (…) invaded the capital of the DPRK,” the official Korean Central News Agency reported, calling both countries by abbreviations of their official names.

A graphic published by KCNA shows the drone’s flight route starting from the South Korean island of Baengnyeong and landing in Pyongyang after crossing the western sea of the Korean Peninsula.

Baengnyeong is the westernmost border island in South Korea, located closer to Pyongyang than Seoul.
