When some parents went to the school to collect their daughters’ transfer certificates recently, they were informed that the transfer certificates had already been accepted, the official said.

This prompted parents to bring the matter to the attention of the school committee and gram panchayat.

An investigation was conducted and it was found that the guardians of the children of 17 students were transferred to other schools without prior consent or agreement with the parents, the official said.

In this regard, the gram panchayat and the school committee have asked the Zilla Parishad authorities to initiate an inquiry into the actions of the former principal.

The parents, however, claimed that no action was taken and closed the school gate in protest.
