Two brothers killed a young man in a clash over the laying of a water pipeline in the Lal Gate area of ​​Surat. Police arrested both attackers within hours of the murder.

The murder took place on November 26 in Ghastipura, which falls under the jurisdiction of Lalgate police station.

The reason for the quarrel was a dispute over the installation of waterworks. The victim, Afzal Patel, was fatally attacked with a paddle. After the incident, accused Mohammad Shahzad alias Khujli Farooq Momin Sheikh and Ejaj Farooq Sheikh fled from the spot.

After reaching the spot, the Lalgate police transported the body of the deceased to the hospital and took action to arrest the perpetrators. Within hours, the police arrested both accused.

During police interrogation, it was revealed that the accused had earlier argued with the deceased regarding the installation of a water pipeline. They both admitted fatally striking the victim twice with a paddle. It was also established that both attackers were engaged in water and sewage installations. The police are currently investigating their criminal past.

This incident is part of a series of murders that took place in Surat last week and has raised concerns over the rising crime rates in the city.
