2. Arrested for throwing acid on a narcotics officer in Rajasthan

Jaipur:

A woman and a man were arrested on Thursday for allegedly throwing acid on a narcotics officer in Rajasthan’s Pratapgarh, police said.

SP Pratapgarh Vineet Bansal said preliminary investigation revealed that the woman and the officer knew each other. However, the exact reason has not yet been determined.

He said the woman and her companion stopped the car of Narcotics Branch Sub-Inspector Harshvardhan near Bamotra. Bansal said that after talking for a while, the accused threw acid on him and fled.

He added that the victim was taken to hospital and is undergoing treatment.

He added that the accused have been arrested and further investigation is ongoing.
