Police say a man has been arrested after allegedly confessing to the murder of a woman at a north Houston motel

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A man has been charged with murder after confessing to killing a woman he was in a relationship with in a motel room Wednesday night, according to the Houston Police Department.

Shortly thereafter, at approximately 6:15 p.m., HPD received a report of a robbery at the Moonlight Inn at 5212 Airline Drive. They said when officers arrived, 36-year-old Myron Lynn Strambler was outside and a woman in one of the rooms needed help.

Investigators said when they entered, the motel room was in disarray and found 34-year-old Alicia Michele Strambler on the bathroom floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of blunt force trauma.

According to charging documents, the suspect struck the victim with a deadly weapon with his hand and then slammed her head against a wall

According to the police, the 36-year-old suspect confessed to the murder. Records show he is currently behind bars at the Harris County Jail.

HPD says the suspect and victim were in a relationship, but it is unclear whether they were married.

The suspect’s records also show he has an extensive criminal history, including a 2021 conviction for assaulting a family member. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault on a child in 2009, for which he served more than four years in prison. .
