Clementi’s fatal stabbing: Suspect who allegedly killed volunteer returned to crime scene, Singapore News

On Monday (October 28), police brought a 50-year-old man who allegedly killed a volunteer to the crime scene at 4 Clementi Ave.

Toh Chee Hong was charged with the murder of 41-year-old Winson Khoo last Wednesday after being arrested at the scene following the incident last Monday evening.

Initial investigations by police indicate that Khoo and Toh are known to each other.

Toh arrived at the roundabout below Blocks 311B and 311C just before 10:20 a.m., exiting a black police van accompanied by four police officers.

Police cordoned off the area including the playground, empty terrace, parking lot and roundabout below blocks 311B and 311C, preventing passers-by from entering the area.

He reportedly stabbed the victim multiple times with a small object at the foot of Block 311B.

Toh, unshaven and unkempt, kept his head down as he was escorted from the drop-off point in Block 311B to the elevator lobby in Block 311C, where he was taken to a unit on the 19th floor.

The block is part of Trivelis, an HDB development under the Design, Build and Sell scheme, where the elevator lobbies are enclosed.

Dressed in a red shirt, black shorts and slippers, Toh was restrained with black straps around his wrists and ankles, restricting his movements as he moved.

At approximately 11:15 a.m. he returned to the ground floor and was taken to the drop-off point.

At this point, a large crowd of onlookers had gathered outside the cordon, watching and recording Toh’s return visit on their mobile devices.

Officers could be seen asking Toh questions, to which he answered by nodding his head and pointing to the ground below him.

A piece of laminated paper with what appeared to be an arrow was then placed on the ground and the suspect pointed forward while officers led him around the area.

He drove onto the road along the roundabout, then onto the lawn of the block of flats, and then at around 11:30 a.m. he was taken to a multi-storey car park.

After speaking with officers on the first floor of the parking lot, a police van entered the premises and picked him up, transporting him and other officers to the upper floors.

Toh left the scene in a van, arriving a little after 11:40 a.m.

If convicted, Toh could face the death penalty.
