One person was taken to hospital after fire brigade cut off the roof of a car following a ‘head-on collision’

The accident happened near Rowton, on the A458 between Shrewsbury and Halfway House, shortly before 6pm yesterday (Thursday), which reportedly involved two vehicles.

The road was closed as a result of the incident and the latest information from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said the accident involved a “head-on collision between two vehicles”.

It added that firefighters from two units helped a person trapped in one of the vehicles and also cut off the roof to help him get out.

This morning, West Mercia Police said: ‘We were called to reports of a collision on the A458 near Rowton Castle at around 5.30pm yesterday. As a precaution, one man was taken to hospital.”
