Police are investigating three separate cases of suicide reported in Nairobi, Makueni and Homa Bay counties.

In the first case, the body A 20-year-old man identified as Leonard Onyango, discovered in his house wr Matathre North area of ​​Nairobi after suspected suicide.

According to police officers who visited the scene, Onyango died by hanging himself with a belt tied around his neck from the window grate of a rented house.

Officers from Ruaraka Police Station secured and documented the scene for further analysis.

Police reported that no suicide note was found.

Onyango’s body was transferred to the city mortuary for safekeeping pending an autopsy.

In the second incident on Sunday, a 62-year-old man identified as Titus Kitaka was found hanging from a tree with a sisal rope tied around his neck at his farm in Makueni.

Officers from Mbumbuni Police Station responded to the scene and confirmed the incident.

“There were no visible injuries on the body,” police said.

Forensic teams examined the scene and the body was taken to Tawa Funeral Home for autopsy.

The relevant authorities said a follow-up report would be prepared on the incident.

Elsewhere in Homa Bay, a 57-year-old man died in a suspected suicide after he was found hanging from one of the rafters of the roof of his house by a sisal rope tied around his neck.

Police officers identified the man as John Ngong’o, a resident of Shauri Yako Estate.

Homa Bay Police Station officers responded to the scene and confirmed the incident.

Police reported that no suicide note was found as a result of the incident.

The deceased’s body was taken to the Homa Bay County Hospital mortuary pending autopsy.

Officers from Homa Bay Police Station say the case remains open until more details are gathered.

The World Health Organization emphasizes the importance of recognizing early warning signs of suicidal thoughts.

These may include withdrawal from social activities, drastic changes in behavior, and expressions of hopelessness advocates preventive measures.

These include open communication, seeking professional help, promoting resilience, strengthening social connections that can protect against isolation, and introducing families to mental health resources available at the community level.
