A man died in a Skokie car crash on North Crawford Avenue, identified as Alfred Slivo

SKOKIE, Ill. (WLS) — The identity of the pedestrian killed in a crash that occurred Sunday in a northern suburb of Skokie has been released.

Police said the crash happened around 3:50 p.m. near North Crawford Avenue and Kirk Street.

Police said the man was crossing the street when he was struck by a vehicle driving Crawford. He died as a result of the accident.

After the collision, the vehicle fled the scene. According to Skokie police, it was a dark colored vehicle.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Alfred Slivo, 78, of Skokie.

The Skokie Police Department, the Northern Regional Major Crimes Task Force and the Major Crash Assistance Team continue to investigate the crash.
