Bengaluru: Jailed Kannada superstar Darshan he hopes to get bail before Diwali as the Karnataka High Court hears his appeal on Monday.

The matter will likely be discussed later in the day.


Darshan is allegedly suffering from severe back pain and his defense counsel, renowned criminal lawyer CV Nagesh, who failed to secure bail for the actor in the lower court, is presenting the case along with medical records and is likely to seek bail on grounds health.

Sources said that if the court rejects his bail, an application will be made to shift him back to the Bengaluru Central Jail.

Darshan’s wife, son, family and fans are eagerly waiting for his release as he has spent the last four months in jail.

Darshan initially refused to undergo any treatment for his back pain, so he was taken to hospital and underwent physiotherapy, but it provided no relief.

On October 22, the Karnataka High Court adjourned the hearing of Darshan’s bail plea to October 28.

A bench headed by Justice S. Vishwajith Shetty will take up the matter at a hearing on Monday.

Senior legal advisor CV Nagesh appeared before actor Darshan and stated that he was suffering from severe back pain and was being treated by doctors.

He also stated that Darshan needed treatment and on this basis he had to be granted bail.

Advocate Nagesh further stated that Darshan has to undergo surgery due to back pain and for this reason, bail should be granted earlier.

Recently, a court in Bengaluru quashed the bail pleas of Darshan and his partner Pavitra Gowda are in jail in connection with the sensational murder case of Renukaswamy, who was a fan of the actor.

Darshan, Pavithra Gowda and 15 others were arrested on June 11 on charges of kidnapping and brutally murdering Renukaswamy of Chitradurga.

Renukaswamy he allegedly sent abusive and obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda because he was angry with the actor for his relationship with Pavithra Gowda despite his marriage.

Darshan was transferred to Ballari Jail after photos emerged showing the ‘royal treatment’ given to him in Bengaluru Central Jail.

He is facing three FIRs in this connection. On September 4, the police presented a 3,991-page indictment in this case.
