Student safe after attempted armed kidnapping on his way to school near Denver

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (KKTV) – Police are looking for a driver who a student says tried to kidnap her at gunpoint on her way to school.

According to the Westminster Police Department, the would-be victim was walking to school alone on the morning of Oct. 25 when a silver car pulled up near her tidy West 125th and Delaware Streets. The student told police that the driver threatened her with a gun and told her to get in.

“The student refused and said the man then grabbed her backpack and drove away in the vehicle,” police wrote in a news release about the incident.

The girl managed to reach school safely, where she reported the attempted kidnapping.

Police are still trying to gather information about the suspects.
