A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Pittsylvania County

Pittsylvania County, Va. (WDBJ) – A 52-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Pittsylvania County on Sunday, according to Virginia State Police.

Police say crews responded to a crash at 5:29 p.m. on Route 759, six-tenths of a mile south of Route 62.

According to police, the driver of the Harley Davidson was traveling southbound, went off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned.

The driver of the motorcycle was identified as Stephen Lee Wingate of Ringgold, Virginia. He was transported to SOVAH Health in Danville, where he died from his injuries, police say.
