A motorcyclist from Hong Kong has died after colliding with a curb at the Bride’s Pool Road black spot

A motorcyclist has died after her bike hit a curb on a road in northern Hong Kong known for being a notorious road accident blackspot.

Police said on Monday that the 47-year-old woman was riding a motorcycle along Bride’s Pool Road in Tai Po leading to Sha Tau Kok when the accident occurred the previous day at around 11:30 p.m.

“Reports indicate that as it approached the Wang Chung Stream, the motorcycle went out of control and hit the curb,” the service said.

According to police, the motorcyclist suffered chest injuries and was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin.

Police said the woman died in hospital at 2:58 a.m.

The case is being investigated by officers from the New Territories North Traffic Department.
