Three people were arrested Friday after an altercation at a Rawlins County hospital

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Three people were arrested Friday after a fight at a Rawlins County hospital.

The Rawlins County Sheriff said the incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. and involved two men and one woman.

The sheriff’s office responded and learned that a fight had started elsewhere in Atwood and involved a firearm. The sheriff said the man was arrested and taken to the Thomas County Jail. A second man and woman were also arrested and a stolen vehicle from Colorado was recovered.

Sheriff Catlyn Wahrman said in a statement: “Acts of violence of this nature are rare in our community. I am grateful to my staff, the Kansas Highway Patrol and the Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in quickly resolving the situation. My top priority is always the safety of Rawlins County and its residents.”
