The Packers are reminding middle school students to take part in the Community Impact Character Playbook project

The Green Bay Packers invites Wisconsin middle school students to develop service projects that directly impact their school, neighborhood or community as part of the Character Playbook Community Impact Project. The program is in its fifth year.

Student groups wishing to participate in the program are asked to apply online until November 1 On packers.formstack.com/forms/characterplaybookcommunityimpactgrantapplication2024.

Under the direction of a Wisconsin school or nonprofit organization, students are asked to create and implement a service project specific to their school, neighborhood or surrounding community. Once a proposal is submitted, the shortlisted group of applicants will have the opportunity to present the group’s project idea to selected representatives of the Green Bay Packers and Character Playbook.

Once approved, project proposals will receive a grant of up to $500 from the NFL Volunteerism Grant to help fund the project. Project ideas might include painting and renovating a common area, creating welcome kits for refugee or immigrant families, planning a neighborhood beautification project, starting a community garden and donating produce to a local food bank, or developing online programs where students can visit students’ younger children or organize bingo with senior centers.

Schools and nonprofit organizations will designate a project supervisor who will guide students in their project and serve as a communication liaison with the Packers.

Individuals selected to present to Packers officials should prepare for a presentation on November 20-22, and grant recipients will be notified by December 2. Projects should be completed by the end of the school year.
