The best and worst players from the Week 8 win over the Jaguars

The Green Bay Packers used a great rushing performance by Josh Jacobs, several key takeaways, big plays by Tucker Kraft and Jayden Reed and the game-winning drive by Malik Willis to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

The Packers’ Sunday performance was their third best of the season, according to Pro Football Focus’ overall rating.

Based on grades from Pro Football Focus, here are the best and worst players in the Packers’ Week 8 victory over the Jaguars:

Top 5 crimes

1. TE Tucker Kraft: 82.5
2. QB Malik Willis: 78.6
3.RB Josh Jacobs: 76.1
4. QB Jordan Love: 74.6
5. OL Jordan Morgan: 71.7

Kraft connected on all three targets for 78 yards, including a 67-yarder that set up the score and a 3-yard touchdown. He also did great as a run blocker. Willis had an adjusted completion percentage of 100.0 and had both a 20-yard rush and a 51-yard completion. Jacobs gained 98 yards on first down, forced eight fumbles and had two runs for 10 yards. Love had three catches within 20 yards downfield, but intercepted the ball in the red zone. Morgan was the highest-rated pass blocker on the team after not allowing pressure for over 12 pass-blocking snaps.

Wilson made five tackles, six assisted tackles and two stops while not missing a single catch in a total of 57 snaps. Cooper missed two tackles, but also had a game-breaking fumble, three stops and a pass breakup. Alexander broke up the pass and allowed just one catch for two yards into his coverage. Smith hit the quarterback and had a solid defensive rating. Brooks had two hurries, including one forcing an incompletion on third down and a running stop.

Myers allowed the pressure to build and had the team’s worst run blocking rating (38.1) by a significant margin. Sims was poor as a run blocker on 14 run-blocking snaps. Walker allowed himself to rush and committed a holding penalty. Jenkins gave up two team-high pressures. Reed fell on third down, ending the drive.

Slaton missed a reception and struggled with the run after 16 snaps. Bullard missed two receptions and returned four catches for 63 yards and one touchdown. Nixon gave up a touchdown catch and missed two receptions. Stokes allowed two catches for 43 yards on just 16 coverage snaps. Wyatt rushed the passer 15 times, but rushed the passer only once.

Special teams

Zayne Anderson had a tackle and the highest grade on the team on special teams. Javon Bullard, Edgerrin Cooper and Bo Melton also made tackles for kicks or punts. Arron Mosby was charged with the only missed tackle. Brandon McManus completed all six kicks, including three from the field under 40 yards. Daniel Whelan had a net average of 44.8 yards.

Playing quarterback

Willis completed 4 of 5 passes for 56 yards and a touchdown and also made two rushes under pressure, including one run for 20 yards. His only incompletion was an incomplete pass, so his adjusted completion percentage was 100.0. Love, who played about two quarters with a groin injury, had one big throw and one interception. He completed 3 of 5 passes thrown more than 20 yards in the air and was 5 of 5 for 56 yards out of the game. Eight of Love’s 14 completions resulted in first downs.

Statistics worth knowing

The Packers defense missed a season-high 15 tackles. Five different defenders missed two or more tackles. Taking on Tank Bigsby, who had seven misses, was a challenge. The Jaguars actually forced nine missed tackles after catches in the passing game.
