Police say one person was injured after a shooting early Saturday morning

The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning near the intersection of Hudson Street and West Palmer Avenue.

According to a TPD news release, officers were on scene at 1:13 a.m. when they heard shots fired. The crowd fled the area and they soon found evidence indicating a shooting, but no victims.

The location is within walking distance of South Monroe Street businesses and the Florida A&M University campus.

According to the release, officers soon received information that a man had arrived at a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

As of Monday morning, no arrests had been made and the investigation remains open and active.

This is at least the 54th serious shooting to take place in the capital and county this year. According to Tallahassee Democrats’ analysis of gun violencein 2024, 21 people died and 44 were injured.
