New details are emerging in the fatal crash in Clermont County that killed five people

CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) – New information has emerged about a tragic crash in Clermont County that left five people dead.

Authorities confirmed that a third vehicle was on the scene at the time of the crash. The incident occurred at State Route 28 and Edenton Pleasant Plain Road.

The crash involved a car driven by 25-year-old Matthew Penny passing another vehicle that appeared to be turning right. According to video footage from the day of the incident, Penny’s maneuver was legal because it took place on the yellow dotted line.

The collision occurred when 43-year-old Dustin McDole parked in front of Penny’s car, leading to the fatal crash. Investigators have not yet revealed what they believe caused the crash.

In addition to Penny and McDole, 19-year-old Chloe Love, 18-year-old Dezmen Jernigan and 42-year-old Andrea Iery died in the crash. 18-year-old Ayden Taylor was taken to hospital, but there is no update on his condition.
