Btech student from Nellore caught selling drugs red-handed

Hyderabad: A B.Tech graduate from Nellore, who came to Hyderabad to learn software, was arrested by the Excise Special Task Force (STF) police for drug possession and peddling. The student, identified as Kattamanchi John, was caught with 7 grams of MDMA while allegedly trying to sell the drug near Sushma Theater in Kranti Hills Colony.

STF excise officers, acting on information received, carried out inspections near SVR Garden in Vanasthalipuram and Kranti Hills Colony. Officers spotted a suspicious person near the Sushma Theater, who was later identified as John. During the raid, authorities seized 7 grams of MDMA, as well as John’s motorcycle and cell phone.

According to Superintendent of Excise and STF team leader Nandyali Anji Reddy, investigation revealed that John had purchased MDMA for Rs. 2,500 per gram and tried to sell it for Rs. 5000 per gram.
