Prominent former politician Sandy Isenberg dies at the age of 85

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – One of the city’s most famous politicians, Sandy Isenberg, has died at the age of 85.

The Toledo Blade reports that Isenberg died at Mercy Health St. Hospital. Anne’s after a sudden illness.

Known for her brazen, often hilarious honesty, Isenberg was a member of the Toledo City Council, county recorder and chairwoman of the county’s board of commissioners.

She became a regular contributor to the Sunday morning political show “Conklin & Company” on 13 Action News, hosted by anchor Lee Conklin.

The Blade reports that services for Isenberg will be held Friday at the Shomer Emunim Temple in Sylvania.
