Tulsa police have identified a man who committed suicide by cop

Tulsa police have identified the person involved shooting “suicide of a policeman”. on Monday.

Police say 39-year-old Kyle Miller contacted his child at a local high school expressing suicidal thoughts.

According to the department, Miller said he intended to contact police, which led to his death.

Officers went to Miller’s home to provide mental support, but he jumped into his truck and nearly hit officers while trying to give chase.

When the officers failed to respond and followed them from a distance, Miller drove around the block, returned to his driveway and ran inside.

Police contacted Miller by phone, who said he had a loaded gun.

Miller then exited the home and shot inside and in front of his truck.

During the phone call, Miller reportedly told officers to come get him while still shooting.

Police tried for more than 30 minutes to convince Miller to surrender peacefully.

At approximately 3:40 p.m., Miller pointed a gun at officers, prompting two officers to fire, hitting Miller.

Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives collect evidence and testimonies.

The two officers involved have been placed on administrative leave per standard protocol for officer-involved shootings.
