Final push to campaign for Harris and Trump

With less than a week before the 2024 presidential election, former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are urging voters to get to the ballot box. FOX 5 NY’s Briella Tomasetti has her latest look.

NEW YORK – WITH Election Day 2024 in less than a week, polls show Vice President Kamala Harris’s lead over former President Donald Trump is shrinking.

On Tuesday, Harris addressed 75,000 supporters at the Ellipse in Washington – the same place where Trump held a rally before the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol – seeking to compare her campaign to his.

Meanwhile, Trump appeared in Allentown, Pennsylvania, just days after a comedian made racist remarks about Puerto Rico at his event in New York, sparking a backlash. Biden initially floundered in his response to the incident, appearing to call Trump supporters “garbage,” but later clarified his comments to ease the criticism.

On Wednesday, both candidates will launch campaigns in Wisconsin and North Carolina, making their final push.

Harris appeared to have an advantage in national polls, by 270toWin. Mean 14 recent national polls shows Harris with a slim 0.9% lead over Trump (48.1% to 47.2%).

The the latest swing state pollsthat will determine the outcome of the election seem to indicate that Trump maintains a very slim lead.

As of Tuesday, Trump was leading in four swing states, compared with Harris in three, according to an average of the latest polls.

  • Harris and Trump are tied at 49% and have a 3 percentage point lead in the poll Emerson College (October 26)
  • Harris has a slight lead over Trump, 51% to 47% among registered voters in the poll conducted by: ABC/Ipsos News (October 27)
  • CBS/YouGov released a poll on Sunday showing Harris leading Trump 50% to 49% by a margin of 2.6 percentage points. According to data from a political polling website 270 to win (October 23)

In New York’s 19th Congressional District, Democrat Josh Riley is vying to unseat Republican Marc Molinaro this year Election day – a rematch of their final competition in 2022 “Polityka” dubbed “New York’s Worst House Race.”

The NY-19 race, which stretches from the Finger Lakes to the New York suburbs of Sullivan County, is expected to be one of the tightest House races in the 2024 elections.
