A 5-year-old died and a 3-year-old was injured in a bouncing house accident

ZAPATA, Texas (KGNS/Gray News) – A 5-year-old child died in a bouncy house accident in Texas over the weekend.

The accident occurred in Zapata County, located along the border with Mexico, when a gust of wind lifted a bouncy house.

When the first emergency services arrived, they found that the 5-year-old was seriously injured. Unfortunately, the child died.

The services reported that a 3-year-old child was also injured and taken to a hospital in Laredo. It is not known what condition the child is in.

Further details are not yet known. The investigation is ongoing.

Scientists have discovered that between 2000 and 2021, bounce house accidents resulted in at least 28 deaths and almost 500 injuries.
