One person died Wednesday morning after a car crashed into a tree in Jackson County

HANOVER TWP, Mich. (WILX) – A man is dead after the car he was driving went off the road and hit a tree near Hanover Twp. Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred just before 8:30 a.m. on Hatch Rd near Reynolds Rd in Hanover Twp.

Jackson County authorities say 51-year-old Stacy Rainey was driving west on Hatch Rd when the crash occurred. There was no one else in the car, but investigators told News 10 they believe he was driving too fast.
