Attackers killed a banker and two others in Abia

The Commissioner of Police in Abia State, CP Danladi Isa, on Thursday confirmed the death of Victor Udensi, an employee of Zenith Bank at Umuahia branch, along with two others in Umuahia on Monday.

The PK, who disclosed this while parading some of the suspects at the Umuahia Police Station, assured the public that the culprits would be brought to justice soon.

He explained that Udensi stopped at the Isi court axis in Olokoro, Umuahia South at about 8pm after a full day of work when he was accosted by three armed men operating from Keke. They tried to force him into the trunk of the car.

However, Udensi resisted and when he tried to escape, the attackers shot him in the back, leaving him in a pool of blood.

The attackers then unsuccessfully tried to start his car and instead accosted another unsuspecting Camry driver.

“When they tried to forcefully take his car keys, the driver resisted.
However, the armed men shot him, killing him on the spot,” Isa said.

Fleeing towards Ubakal, the attackers encountered Keke, who they believed was obstructing their escape, and fatally shot the driver.

An eyewitness reported that passersby took Udensi to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after treatment began.

The PK also stated that the police had launched a manhunt in search of the attackers.
