A teenager shot and killed near the US-131 overpass has been identified

OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A teenager found Tuesday near US-131 near Kalamazoo has been identified.

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office said Duane Lewis died at the hospital. The The 15-year-old was found near apartment buildings on West KL Avenue on October 29.

Deputies were first called to the scene after receiving a report of shots fired.

Neighbors told FOX 17 that the shooting left many of them seeking shelter in their apartments.
