A student creates a haunted house for charity

A Park Vista Community High School freshman turned his childhood home into a house of horrors for a reason.

Jonah Wides, 14, created a haunted house for the Forgotten Soldiers Outreach Foundation. The organization creates care packages for soldiers serving abroad.

Wides came up with the idea to give back to the community last year. Over the past few months, Wides and some of his classmates have volunteered to make this possible.

“I decided to do it because I just wanted to help the soldiers and just provide them with things because they really need it,” he said. “They do a lot for us and America.”

If you are interested in helping Jonah and the U.S. Army, you can make a monetary donation or donate packaged snacks, travel-sized hygiene products, and write a letter of encouragement to the troops.

The Haunted House is open on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

It is located in the hamlet of Shadow Creek in the Winston Trails community of Lake Worth.

If you live outside of Winston Trails, you must answer the question whether you would like to access the community gateway at[email protected]or call 561-703-9696.
