19-year-old hit and killed in crash in Brevard County: FHP

BREVARD COUNTY, FL – A 19-year-old woman died after being struck on I-95 in Brevard County early Saturday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred just after midnight in the southbound lane of I-95, near mile marker 188, after authorities said a 2010 Lexus was speeding before striking the rear of a semi-truck.

Authorities said that after the crash, the driver of the Lexus, a 19-year-old woman, exited the vehicle and was struck after the Ford F-250 collided with the rear of the Lexus.

According to investigators, the woman was hit by another vehicle.

The woman died at the scene of the accident, authorities said.

A 16-year-old passenger in the Lexus was taken to hospital with minor injuries. According to investigators, the other drivers did not suffer any other injuries.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
