Police say a 5-year-old boy has died days after he was shot in a drive-by shooting

CINCINNATI (WXIX/Gray News) – A 5-year-old boy has died after he was shot in a drive-by shooting earlier this week in Cincinnati.

The boy, identified as 5-year-old Artagista Stanford III, died Saturday, according to Cincinnati police.

He was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital after Thursday’s shooting. But he didn’t survive.

The shooting happened around 5 a.m. on Holland Drive near Vivian Place in Winton Hills.

Police radio reports indicate that three to four shots were fired into the house.

Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge said she had no suspects and did not know the motive for the shooting, but the investigation was ongoing.

According to Cincinnati Public Schools, the artist attended Winton Hills Academy.
