The Rams are reportedly open to trading the former All-Pro CB

Tre’Davious White he was a key player in the Rams’ secondary earlier in the year, but has been a solid anchor in each of the last three games. As a result, the veteran corner could be on the road soon.

White and Rams talk about their future, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports on this. A trade is one potential outcome in this case, although the team is also open to keeping him. As Los Angeles knows (like every other team), fatigue during the season can lead to injuries elsewhere on the CB depth chart. That could push White back into the first-team position, which he held for the first four weeks of the year.

As Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic notesThe Rams indicated after signing White that he would not be immediately hit with a heavy workload, although he ultimately was. The former Bills All-Pro played 98% of the defensive snaps in Weeks 1-4 before being completely removed from the lineup on game day. White gave up four touchdowns and a passer rating of 138.4, which no doubt contributed to his inactivity over the last three contests.

These range issues could lower White’s trade value, although the 29-year-old is a pending free agent. Written by A pact for a year on the open market with a base value of USD 4.25 million. However, there are also incentives as part of this pact, and obtaining a 60% ownership stake in the Rams would result in additional compensation. Each acquisition team would assume the prorated remainder of the $1.5 million base salary, which would be a manageable task for the candidates.

White was one of the league’s best corners during the first five years of his tenure in Buffalo. However, injuries hampered his career and between 2022 and 2023 he played only 10 matches. The LSU product managed to recover from a torn Achilles tendon he suffered last October before the season started, although his poor coverage will lead to questions about his ability to return to pre-injury form.

The Rams have it Darious Williams he returned after his stay in the infrared, together with Coby Durant AND Ahkello Witherspoon in place in the corner. Lost time for any member of this trio could bring White back into the lineup, but if a strong enough trade market emerges, it will be interesting to see if the team prefers to move on.
