The charges stem from deputies receiving a call Monday about a shooting at 5900 Liberty Chapel Road near Florence. Witnesses say the victim was walking down the street when Brewington allegedly drove up and shot him.

Deputies investigated as the vehicle Brewington was driving passed through the scene and was identified by the victim. Another deputy managed to locate him and attempted to apprehend him as he fled.

After a short pursuit, the vehicle crashed and Brewington was taken into custody.

He is being held at the Florence County Detention Center without bond.
