21-year-old arrested after allegedly robbing victim at gunpoint in Wagener

WAGENER, SC (WRDW/WAGT) – Authorities learned Monday that a 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with robbing a victim at gunpoint in Wagener.

Aiken County deputies say they met with the victim on November 13, who stated that the day before he was robbed at gunpoint after attending a house party on Nobhill Circle Lane in Wagener.

The victim told deputies the party began to get out of control and deputies were called.

A short time later, the victim told deputies that the suspect, 21-year-old Bishop Haynes of Wagener, returned home and became angry, wanting to know why police were called.

As the victim was trying to sleep, he told deputies that Haynes pulled out a gun and put it to his head. He then forced him to give Haynes all of his money, including his Social Security card, authorities say.

Haynes then began forcing the victim into the woods outside when a neighbor came outside, which authorities said caused Haynes to run away.

The victim told officers she did not immediately call authorities because she feared for her safety.

Jail records show Haynes was arrested on November 22 on charges of armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
