CPD releases photo of car wanted after fatal crash on SW Side

Chicago police have released a photo of a car being sought after a fatal crash on South Western Avenue on the Southwest Side on Wednesday.

CHICAGO (WLS) — A Chicago woman has been identified as the crime victim fatal hit and run accident on Wednesday.

The accident occurred on Wednesday in the southwestern part of the city at around 5:57 p.m

Investigators say a gray or black four-door sedan struck a 54-year-old woman who was crossing the street near Western and Marquette.

The driver fled and the victim died from his injuries.

Tanja Annzionetta Safford was identified Monday by the Cook County Medical Examiner.

Police have published photos of a car wanted in connection with a fatal accident.

Chicago police continue to investigate. No arrests have been made.
